The Introvert

When I was at school I made friends with a kid who played a lot of video games. He enjoyed the same games that I did and we spent most of our hours chilling and playing the Sony Playstation. As time progressed I moved my home and met different people. People who were more socially extroverted and enjoyed playing sports – people who were by societies standards considered popular.

While I had been more of a natural extrovert I often found myself caught in between my friends who hadn’t yet socially adjusted. I had begun to see things in the Introverts which the extroverts over-looked and characteristics in extroverts which the introverts never got to understand.

In my growing up phase I begun to understand people differently. In this post I’m going to explain
the temperament of the introvert.

Introvert

  • Logically dominated
  • Prefers Independence
  • Requires more privacy
  • Has fewer (but closer) friends
  • Thinks before he speaks
  • Temperament stems from a sense of insecurity
  • Humor is subtle/ironic

The introvert has an excellent ability of thinking logically and
handling they’re sense of time. They are a lot more perceptive to facts and details
rather then emotions and intuitive senses.

The introverts humor:

Despite what a lot of people think, the introverts do not lack a sense of humor, they’re humor is as real as ours except much subtler. What the Introvert look for when it comes to humor, isn’t the delivery or emotion but rather the  subtext. They don’t look at what’s on the surface but instead
find joy in what is Ironic and not spoon fed. They prefer Satire to bamm in your face slapstick
humor.

Example:

(Quote from Wikipedia)

“The Descent was held as the most successful of the three according to
ticket sales and critical reviews; however, The Cave was the only
one of the three that was actually filmed inside a cave.”

Here the humor rests in the fact that the article is comparing it’s basis on A) A film making
a lot of money and B) A film which was shot in a cave. A little bit stupid.

Example 2:

Despite the fact that many people wouldn’t find this add funny, there is (introverted) humor which
rests in this add. Humor that no one is going to be prepared to knock a few things off they’re list
while they’re dying – at least not so they can earn some fabulous coupons

Example 3:

Is in the following line of a book called Dr. Strangelove -  “You’ll have to answer to the Coca-Cola company” which is said while a soldier is holding a very intense face. Theres nothing funny about the line but instead the context. Theres a man who is desperately trying to make a phone call that could save the world from a catastrophic nuclear destruction so he asks a soldier to break into a vending machine to make change for the call. The soldier, hilariously unclear on the concept
speaks the line -  “You’ll have to answer to the Coca-Cola company”

Con of the Introvert -
Emotional incognizance:

(lacking emotional awareness; unaware)

My (introverted) friend, no matter how many years I hung with never fully grasped the concept of another human being. I mean, despite him being incredibly intellectual and knowledgeable he never really got his concept around being ‘charming’ and often came across as obnoxious and even at times unpleasant – this is due to him looking at the facts of the situation and not the emotion.

Extroverts understand and are very good at improving social interactions by providing emotional value – usually taking a hit at at your ego and self esteem by making you FEEL good.
Not Think good. This is the basis of most interactions and it is where introverts go wrong. Here are a few basic examples:

You’ve just been fired

Introvert: “Stephanie’s not going to go out with you anymore if you don’t have any money.”

Extrovert: “Ten years from now you’ll probably walk back in there
and buy that place.

One states the facts, one boosts the ego.

Situation: Someones just called your friend weird for collecting stamps or something.

Introvert: Laughs harshly and says “He’s right.”

Extrovert: “Half the kids on my block had a stamp album when I
was growing up. Anyways.. have you ever noticed it’s always the peo
ple who accuse others of being weird who are the weirdest?”

Another one

—- Some hot chick at a party asks what you do for a living.

Introvert: “I’m a personal financial consultant at Merrill. Number one
producer in my office for the last three years, actually. It’s how I afford the condo in Sydney.”

Extrovert: “I’m in advertising—I make a living trying to convince people to buy shit they don’t need.”

My final opinion is that life is about balance, it’s about
being intellectual, capable of planning, mapping out goals and being
factual/pragmatic.. but it’s also about having the emotional intelligence to handle yourself and the people around you.

There is a massive barrier between introverts and extroverts which
makes them oblivious to the positive qualities within the opposite
temperament

Self Development Software

So here on my quest of self-development I’ve decided to combine a few tactical pieces of software together to try and help keep my life organized
and efficient, here are some tools which I use personally use. Along with a small review.

1. Windows Live Writer (Portable)
convert it to a portable version here

Windows

http://explore.live.com/windows-live-writer?os=other

I’ve realized that getting a blog up and running takes time and effort so to help cut the time in half I’ve decided to use a blogging client which will let me save
drafts on my thumb-drive and then simply upload and sync them onto my blog
when I’m ready. This app lets you write and save all your blog posts off of your thumb-drive and later syncs it together which is exactly what I was looking for. The thing which separates this from Zoundry Raven (another free blog client) is that It has a live spell check and it can download your current wordpress template so that you can see how it all looks.

  • Upload your notes, thoughts or posts to your blog on the fly
  • Download your current theme (for preview mode)
  • Auto-spell check
  • Emoticon ability
  • Extra plugins available for download
  • Ability to add new catagories

2. Wiki on a stick (Portable)

waos.png

http://stickwiki.sourceforge.net/

Wiki on a stick is like a personal wikipedia. It runs straight off of your thumbdrive (or any location)
It’s incredibly for when your reading a book or undertaking any material which
you need to take notes on because it allows you to collect your thoughts and go
back over your material until you fully understand and develop them.

  • Collect notes
  • Go over and organize information

4. My Life Organized

image-box.jpg

www.mylifeorganized.net

This application allows you to organize and keep track of your goals.
It’s really neat, simple and effective.

  • Set goals
  • Keep track of goals

5. Fusiondesk

FusionDesk_Pro-32206.png

www.Fusiondesk.com

This one is pretty cool, it’s just like My life organized (although I personal prefer my life organized) for goal tracking. The reason this one differentiates it’s self is because it has a timer option available in it’s tool settings. So if whether your doing Graphic Design, Music Production or wasting time on Facebook – this application logs how much time your taking and then saves all of that information into a .pdf file so you can review it and evaluate your effectiveness.

  • Time tracking (useful for effectiveness/productivity evaluation)

6. Tracks

tracks-logo-dark.png

http://www.getontracks.org/

This is another cool app and like the other two it allows you to monitor your tasks.
The reason this one differentiates it’s self because it has a statistics page

tracks_stats_thumb.png

which lets you keep track of your efficiency – the more you try the more you’ll achieve and statistics show everything. If you want to be more pragmatic in your life and evaluate your your consistency and time spent,
then this tool will help you a lot.

Get the windows version of it here – http://bitnami.org/stack/tracks

  • Graphing and statistics information

How to truely Improve your Self-Esteem

Lately I’ve been watching so much crap on tv. Infomercials which claim to tone you down, objects which make you slimmer by sending you electric pulses. Rocks which emit ’Psychic auraus’  and improve your overall life. And secret formula shakes to make us all slimmer but theres one problem,  Everyone is so busy searching for what it is that will improve their lives and make them feel happier but what it is they are really doing is pushing what will make them happier or more successful away further and further away. Think about it, those external things might make you happy tempiraroly but it has its limitations, it never lasts and there always something new to come along and take its place – The cycle always continues!

Has anyone ever stoped to think that maybe the ‘important concept’ which we are missing is totaly within our reach? it’s so simple that we’ve missed and over looked it’s true value, did you also know it doesnt cost a penny? If your a non-beliver then by all means keep on buying useless products and attending ‘life-changing’ seminars in hopes that our lives will improve but the real truth is that it is just a dillusion which keeps us coming back and back, marketed to generate more profit.

There is something better out there.

And here it is, the important concept here is that the world starts with yourself. The way the world reacts to you and is percieved by the actions and values you bring is by what you bring to it. If your a grochy person, then chances are people will act without giving you a second thought. They will think “Hey well this guy is no value to me, so why should I treat him like he means anything” but if you walk around with a smile on your face it sub-communicates a meaning of things.

Firstly, that you are a happy person, people can always enjoy your vibe and will be willing to be more around you if it means they will enjoy themselves. They will see that you are confident, you are someone who is capable pushing forth even when the world goes mad.

Do yourself a little test. Next time you go to the mall, take a look at the people who are around you, are they all smiling are they walking like they mean something to the world and do they have a confident & capable posture?

Chances are they don’t and when someone like yourself can smile, then your the one person that can stick out in the herdes of sheep.

It’s time to stop feeling unhappy and just smile. Do you know that the men who have their single ear peirced are actually more successfull with marrage when it comes to woman? no? well it because they’ve been through pain and they’ve also bought jewlery =) Haha okay  that was a joke and (and hopefully you got it)

What I want you to do right now  is smile. Sit back in that chair of yours and think back to a momment where you were a little kid and everything was happy and blissfull and just smile, a BIG BIG SMILE and hold it there. Imagine you woke up this morning and you got to pick from one of your 7 porches of the week on your way to work where the woman and men threw their feet at you and praised you.

It means that only YOU can DESIDE to FEEL as GOOD as you like. No mater what. You are in charge. Not this guy on the street that called you an asshole. You. You decide if you was insulted (and feel bad) or honored (and feel great about it).

Wiley’s 12 Critial factors of unlimited success

I’ve been reading a book lately titled “Create Your Own Future How To Master The 12 Critical Factors Of Unlimited Success” by Brian Tracy.

I Havent read all of the book so far but from what I have read, it’s been very enjoying.

12 Crititcal factors of unlimited success

12 Crititcal factors of unlimited success

So far from what I’ve read Brian Tracy has come up with his own beliefs about ‘luck’ – he says  luck is an attribute which you can change. (and he explains you you how) However chance is an attribute you can not and when it comes to changing your life for the better. You leave nothing up to chance.

Here are some question exercises from the book:
1. Develop your own personal definition of happiness. What sort of activities
or conditions do you enjoy more than anything else?
2. Go to one of the top people in your field and ask that person for advice
that will help you to be more successful.
SUCCESS IS PREDICTABLE
3. Identify the luckiest events that have happened in your life and then
trace back the various actions you took that contributed to them.
4. Determine the cause and effect relationships between something you
want and the best way of getting it. What are they?
5. Take one specific action immediately that can increase the likelihood
that you will achieve one of your goals. Do it now!

Heres some of the answers I’ve given
1) Happiness to me is the ability to do anything you wish, the ability to be able to get into the most prestigious clubs – A listed.
The ability to own the most expensive mansion in the street and catch your own plane to travel around the globe and see new places.
Happiness is having children and knowing that you can live in good health and you can support them for the rest of your life as you grow old.
Happiness is having lots of different friends and knowing that you can be of social grace towards them & a dependable person.

2 Go to the top marketers, graphic designers, music producers, personal development coaches and ask them for advice that will help me
be more successful.

3 The ‘luckiest’ events that have happened in my life have been when I started making a new social group of friends, I was aproaching women all of the time
and always talking to new people, it made myself more confident and dependant knowing I could create my own social group of friends. The thing that contributed to ALL of this
was having the right state of mind, being happy & saying even though I dont always look my best I’m gonna feel a million bucks and put all my effort into everything I’ve
got. I HAVE NOTHING TO LOOSE. Things that contributed to my luckiest state of life/ happyiest include me being proactive, being well groomed, saying affirmations
to myself that made me feel like a million bucks & having the willingness to try new experiances.

4. Cause and effect, one of the things that I wish to achieve is money and the best way for me personally to attain this money is by being proactive and having the right state of mind
by saying to myself affirmations and understanding that everything I want is at arms reach, I just have to put the effort in to grab it & keep
an open mind on what it is I’m going to contribute to my ‘good luck’ and make sure I lead in the right direction with each day I can.

5. One action RIGHT now for me to change is my attitude, I need to be someone more appealing. Someone people would want to keep around and have
and someone who can brighten up the day and actually make a good impact on peoples lives. So that when I leave they think to themselves.
Hmmm I wonder where he went?

Think and Believe

Think and then Believe

In all things in life, it’s a true reality to first think and believe. “I think, therefore I am” – René Descartes.
It is a truism which dates back before humanity and now you look into the sky and you see airplanes, people walking past talking into their mobile phones
and people holding up objects to block out the rain while they do so.

The thing that’s truly amazing to me though, is the ability for these guys to be great thinkers.
Before anything can exist, it has to be thought up.  It’s all a manifestation of the mind.
So this gives me an idea for my first challenge:

The first thing I’m going to do is become a ‘Great thinker’ I’m not sure what a great thinker is yet.  Maybe its someone who creates giant
empires and generates millions of dollars worth of profit or maybe it’s someone who can eliminate poverty from 3rd world countries or
on the contrary drop nukes over Hiroshima, either way I’m entitled to find out what a ‘Great thinker’ is.

Then I will be posting my new found knowledge right here on the blog.
To help other aspiring people become something great. I will be writing the key points of each book or article
Including my own thoughts and views along with my status progression but to help you guys get an idea
of the manifestations in my mind that will become a real reality I have written some simple statements down
below.

I will have an amazing social life.
I will be an entertainer, someone that is funny and someone people defiantly want to be around.
I will own my own recording studio and produce tracks in my name.
I will gain an authoritative reputation.
I will have a great sense in reality and be the guy girls want to fight over.
My health will be in mint condition a 6 Pack and well above average physique
I will earn my first 1 million dollars and then expand from there.

If I am successful in my challenge, my promise to you all is that I will teach you all how to be the better you. You want to be,
if that includes being rich, successful, good looking or having better health. I will do it all.

So best of luck, here I go.

- Nsways

So this is it?

I’m sitting here now, thinking to myself. Damn this is it?
& what the hell is even ‘this’ – at the moment I’m at a point in my life where my health is below average.
My so called, ‘success’ with ladies is down the drain and I’m even failing university & likely to fall out.

So this is it. This is my ‘plan’ the thing that’s going to create a better life style for me, make me rich & successful with women. No joke. I’m going to go out and do a bunch of stupid shit and really put myself on the line. I’m not sure how I’m going to do it yet, I think I need some hidden video cameras or something so I can document it all & before you start thinking ohh shiit this dudes gonna run out and robb a bank or get into a stupid shoot out. I’ll say no. My studies will focus on self development. Self improvement, I’ll read books on how to pick up women, I’ll read books on how to attain money, possibly even grow taller & I’ll post the results in here.

Tommorow I might post an intro on myself, but for now – this being the first post. You can call me a complete 0. 10 is what I’m aiming for, which means I’m insanely rich, successful, happy, getting plenty of girls, my health has improved, my looks too, I have a excellent physique, an excellent job & best of all. I’m fit and healthy, so lets hope I find a bunch of really good books out there. I’ve got nothing to loose & everything to gain. Here we go – Zero to Hero Ouuuuuuuuut.
